What is Load Balancing?

This feature, when enabled, gives you a platform to enter all those server addresses across whom, the load of requests are going to be evenly distributed, thus providing seamless horizontal scalability. The miniOrange reverse proxy product sits right in front of the user’s servers and distributes the load amongst the server addresses provided by the user.

How does Load Balancing work?

Let’s see how this feature would work in a scenario where a massive number of requests are sent to the proxy link created by a user, who has enabled the Load Balancing feature:

Use-Case Scenario: User enabling load balancing

    Let’s take a look at an example of one of our clients from a company where a high number of HTTP requests received by their servers were unevenly distributed amongst them. In order to rectify this problem, the Reverse Proxy Product was put to use.

    Suppose, a large number of clients spread throughout the world want to send requests to the user’s servers. The reverse proxy server, with an enabled load balancing feature, would evenly distribute this load amongst all the servers whose address is shared by the client, thus, ensuring horizontal scalability of requests and as a result, reducing the load on each server, eventually, preventing a catastrophic failure of the servers.
